Lauran Madden
Lauran Madden, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer at BlueNalu is a driven technology, biology and engineering problem-solver. With more than 15 years of multidisciplinary experiences in the design and development of novel biomaterials, cell expansion methods, and 3D tissue fabrication, Lauran sees the challenge of the unknown as an opportunity to innovate and create game-changing technology solutions. Under Lauran's leadership, BlueNalu developed a robust technology platform with the capacity to produce a wide array of seafood products from a variety of species. Lauran continues to grow the expert R&D team and achieve critical technology milestones. Prior to BlueNalu, Lauran was a Scientist at Organovo, a national leader in the design and development of functional human tissues using 3D bioprinting technology. Lauran received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Washington. She is an avid trail runner, rock climber, and overall outdoor enthusiast who wants to see new technology protect the environment and provide consumers with safe seafood.
