Francisco Codoñer
Francisco (Paco) Codoñer is CEO of ScaleUp Bio, a Singapore-based joint-venture between global nutrition leader ADM and Temasek’s wholly owned Nurasa. ScaleUp Bio pioneers Singapore's first - and among only a few worldwide – submerged microbial and precision fermentation facilities dedicated purely to supporting food tech start-ups from home and around the world. Paco previously served as the senior team leader of the systems biology team for Danone Nutricia Research in Utrecht, the Netherlands. During his tenure, he also led the microbiome centre for Danone Nutricia Research in Singapore. Before Danone, Paco was the joint CEO and Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of Lifesequencing, a pioneering biotech company in Valencia, Spain. His expertise in research and development (R&D) includes work at institutions like Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, Muenster University in Germany, and the AIDS Research Institute in Spain. Paco holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics, a Master of Science degree in Molecular Evolutionary Genetics and a PhD in Biology (Molecular Genetics and Bioinformatics) from the University of Valencia. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
